The Survey on Vaccination during Pregnancy (SVP) was first conducted in 2019 and again in 2021. The SVP collects information from women about their pertussis and influenza vaccination received during pregnancy and their knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs around these vaccines. The 2021 SVP included 3,347 biological mothers of children born between September 1st, 2020 and March 1st 2021.A number of questions were added to the survey in 2021. These questions aimed to determine the impact of COVID-19 public health restrictions on pertussis and influenza vaccination among pregnant women (e.g. obstacles, delays). At the time when mothers in the 2021 SVP were pregnant, the COVID-19 vaccine was not yet recommended to them in Canada. Therefore, vaccination status against COVID-19 could not be assessed for pregnant women within this survey cycle.
